The 14th Annual Ram and Ewe Rural Ball has been postponed.
In May, as we seemed to be moving into recovery, we were optimistic about holding the 14 Annual Ram and Ewe Rural ball. However, given the current status of things and restrictions in place, the committee has made the tough decision to call off the 2020 event. Consider this a raincheck, and please know we will be back with more information when we have it. In the meantime, stay safe and well! We hope to see you at the big shed in Jamestown again soon. SOUTH AUSTRALIA'S ONLY RURAL BALL!
Terms & Conditions
History
The 'Ram n Ewe Ball' began in 2007 by a group of 15 young rural ambassadors from across South Australia. The original purpose was for the ball to provide an opportunity for people who live or would like to live in a rural environment to meet others. The event aims to reduce social isolation by encouraging networking and providing an opportunity for people to meet in a rural location.
All funds raised from the ball go back into community projects as well as to local and national charities. Since the ball began we have given away over $120,000. In 2017 the Ram & Ewe Ball was awarded Community Event of the Year by the Northern Areas Council at the Australia Day awards ceremony.
Now
The Ram and Ewe Ball Committee is still managed by a volunteer committee of people across the Mid North, proudly supported by the Jamestown Apex Club. For one night of the year, people travel far and wide, coming together for a down-to-earth, fun and formal night out at the Jamestown Ram and Ewe Rural Ball. The ball has stayed true to its original purpose with slight changes depending on what rural people are facing. With the current climate the committee is hoping this year’s ball will be an opportunity for local drought-stricken farmers to dress up, socialise, have fun and meet new people.
